Lighthouse Memories

Our summer has been going very fast and we are trying to fit in as many day trips as we can before school starts so I came up with the idea of visiting the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. The kids have never been to one so I thought that might be a COOL learning experience. The museum actually has the buildings of where the innkeepers had stayed and the original lenses are on display dating back to 1887. Alex and Christopher could not wait to climb to the top it's 203 steps....yikes! I'm just glad their not afraid of heights. It was a beautiful sight once we got to the top.

Great Afternoon

We decided to take a trip up to Mt Dora this afternoon. What a great selection of shops. Of coarse when we finally found a parking spot we found ourselves right in front of a children's boutique. My internal scanner must have sensed it LOL! So we headed on in. My word all the summer clothes were 50% off...I went crazy! Also remember living in Florida you can wear these clothes all year long on most days so it is worth it. They had a nice selection of Bailey Boys and Rosalina which we grabbed our sizes and held on to them before they were taken. It was quite busy it was a madhouse!Anyway the kids got three outfits each for a $100...we rock!!!! The owner said the fall bishop dresses are arriving soon,my husband better work some major overtime LOL! A very tired Alex We then walked up to some specialty gift stores and bought little knick knacks here and there. I love seeing the Halloween decor coming out it was so great. Then as always we stopped to have ice cream and it was really good! Next time I would like to try one of the awesome eateries they look real fun! We are definitely going to go again in the fall when they have the train ride to the pumpkin patch and in the winter for the snow and Christmas parade. In the end it was a blast and we got new clothes, great ice cream and much needed family time.

Wekiwa Springs

We all went to Wekiwa Springs today and had a great time! We had a barbecue which we never do (normally we hit a fast food place) ,but today we wanted to do a little traditional lunch!!! After that we hit the VERY COLD springs! 72 degrees WOW! It took us almost 30 minutes to get in. Once in the water it was fine and you could see the fish underneath and just nature all around. As usual Alex loved the water and stayed in quite long. Christopher had his moments.I managed to stay in about 30 minutes and I was done. Daddy stayed longer with Alex and I took Christopher for a walk on the hiking trail. Then the day ended with some ice cream and a car ride home with 2 sleeping kids!!!

Hot day at the zoo

Today our family went to Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. No wonder it's rated #1 for families,it was amazing! We got there around 11am got our map and started our journey. Our favorite was the white tiger...so beautiful. They actually had camel rides which I've never saw before so that's our next adventure on the next visit. The park also had kiddie rides which is something different in a zoo. The hit was the flume ride for Alex she must have rode it 10 times! Christopher loved the sky ride. The water play area was really neat also, the kids spent a lot of time cooling off and splashing each other. We finished our day with a typical Florida thunder storm but had a great day and are coming back!

4th of July!

Today was the annual 4th parade in the town of Celebration. We got the family packed up and headed on out there. I'm so glad it's held in the morning because the humidity is nasty. We found a good spot and enjoyed ourselves! Alex and Christopher love getting all the red, white and blue freebies. It's a nice way the town can also represent itself. Anyway hope everyone had a great day.Happy Birthday America! I'm ready for this parade! all our freebies
